Ten Years of Watching. Now It's Time to Act.
Geoffrey Groover moved to Florida ten years ago to reconnect with his family roots and traditions. What he found instead was a state in quiet crisis: waterways thick with algae, springs flowing weaker every year, and wildlife suffering silently in chemically treated water. Determined to understand it firsthand, he spent three years learning Central Florida's waterways intimately — and that journey led him to pursue his 6-pack Captain's license, deepening a bond with Florida's waterways that would eventually fuel everything Water Warriors stands for.
But what struck Geoffrey most was not the water itself — it was the people. Everywhere he went, he found Floridians who were angry, heartbroken, and ready to fight. They just had no unified front.
There were individuals filing solo complaints. Small local groups fighting single issues. Researchers publishing data no one was reading. Candidates running with no support. The pieces were all there — they just were not connected.
Geoffrey decided to build the connection. Using his own skills and resources, he founded Water Warriors to unite these voices, fund the most critical fights, and hold the decision-makers accountable — through science, the law, and the ballot box.
He is the first to say this cause is bigger than any one person. The goal is not to lead a movement — it is to build the infrastructure for a movement that will outlast him.

Our Mission
To protect and restore Florida's water quality and quantity through science-driven restoration, legal advocacy, and electoral accountability — uniting water advocates with data, shared intent, and the power to create lasting change.
Why Geoffrey Is Built for This Fight
Geoffrey brings an unusual combination to environmental advocacy: the insider knowledge of someone who has spent years working at the intersection of land, resources, and regulation — and the conviction of a Floridian who has watched that system fail his adopted state.
A graduate of Metropolitan State University's Petroleum Land Management Program (2022), Geoffrey works as a Certified Mineral Manager in the oil and gas sector. His professional work spans permitting, land use, land operations, and the environmental protective and damage preventative measures that govern resource extraction. He holds accreditation from the National Association of Royalty Owners and is a Registered Petroleum Landman with the American Association of Petroleum Landmen (AAPL).
That background gives Water Warriors something most environmental organizations don't have: a founder who reads the same permits, understands the same regulations, and speaks the same technical language as the industries and agencies responsible for Florida's water crisis.
His grassroots organizing experience runs equally deep. Geoffrey has worked petition campaigns since 2008. In 2010, he served as a U.S. Census Bureau Recruiter — independently securing venues, coordinating logistics, and building and managing his own hiring operation from scratch. That same skill set drives Water Warriors' statewide petition and outreach strategy today.

Unite Advocates
We connect water advocates across Florida's 67 counties and 5 St. Johns Water Management Districts, giving them shared data, shared tools, and shared strategy.
Fund Restoration
We identify and fund critically needed restoration projects — not just advocacy, but real, on-the-ground work that heals damaged ecosystems.
Build the GIS Map
We are developing a public crowdsourced map where Floridians can post local water quality data, creating an independent public record of conditions across the state.
Fight in Court
We prioritize and fund the legal cases most likely to result in lasting protection — targeting policies that harm springs, rivers, and aquifers at their source.
Hold Officials Accountable
We track voting records, spread political awareness, and support candidates who are not beholden to PACs or lobbyists — because lasting water protection requires the right people in office.
